Not By the Neck!

We are so fortunate to have soooo many relatives. Yesterday, Lizzy met a new cousin. Her cousin Audrey came over to our family dinner for a visit. Audrey is daughter to Erika, who is daughter to Jean's (Rob's Mom) brother. We don't get to see them much, so we were very happy to see them. As I told Lizzy she was meeting another cousin, I wondered if she would begin thinking every child is a cousin. She has so many. That makes life more fun!

Audrey just turned one year old. She is learning to walk and fell down. Lizzy was trying to help her up. I could see the thought process working for her trying to figure out a way to help her up. Lizzy went for the neck with both hands. I quickly said, "Lizzy, not by the neck!" Then, I proceeded to show her how to help someone up without killing them. This became the joke and highlight of the evening.
